CRIN | Case Study

About the Client

CRIN is a global children’s rights advocacy network. Established in 1995, they press for rights - not charity - and campaign for a genuine shift in how governments and societies view and treat children.

They link to nearly 3,000 organisations that between them work on children’s rights in every country in the world and rely on their publications, research and information sharing.

Client Goals

CRIN had become frustrated with their digital services, in particular the website and email and were uncertain how to regain control and develop a clear strategy.

What We Did

CRIN approached Code Positive for help with their website, email services and digital strategy planning. Our first step was to carry out a ‘Health Check’ of the CRIN website. This took the form of a comprehensive audit to review the core Drupal architecture, code management, standards and best practice for the underlying implementation.

The result of this audit was a thorough, actionable document which could be used as a basis for planning the next steps in the digital journey. We used this to review the current strategy and help to define a set of objectives.

Results

We worked with CRIN, helping to prioritise the roadmap and define projects into smaller, actionable tasks as well as keeping focus on the overall vision.

"What we find most valuable is their willingness to challenge us and say ‘no’ rather than just accepting tasks, they guide us on how to work with technology." - Gillian Harrow, Operations Director, CRIN.
