Drupal For Publications

When: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Where: Sun Microsystems, King William St, Regis House, London EC4R 9AN

Dries recently blogged about how Edipresse, one of Europe's biggest media and communications companies, has switched to Drupal for it's newspaper and magazine websites. It's a significant example of a trend of widespread Drupal adoption by publishing houses such as News International, IPC, and Hachette-Filipacchi.

Advantages that have led publishers to choose Drupal are lower costs, flexibility of adding new features, scalability, reliability, and the large and growing pool of skills and services available.

Drupal For Publications is a half day event showcasing some of the most innovative and exciting Drupal work happening in the publishing industry, introducing Drupal to publishers that are evaluating solutions, and connecting publishers with Drupal services.

Drupal For Publications is organised by Code Positive and hosted by Sun Microsystems. The event is free but registration is required.

The session will cover a number of topics relevant to the deployment of Drupal in the publishing sector:

  • Suitability of Drupal for a publication website
  • Workflows, syndication, subscriptions, and publish on demand
  • Which versions of Drupal to use and the recommended modules based upon your needs
  • Designing and implementing the right architecture to meet scalability and security requirements
  • Commercial, Enterprise Class support and services available for Drupal and associate infrastructure

Whether you are evaluating Drupal or running in production, this is a great opportunity to learn more about Drupal deployments, put your questions to the experts, and connect with the Drupal community.
